Times Square Characters

Over the years I have been to New York City a lot, since I live about an hour away. One thing I always find entertaining yet sometimes extremely disturbing at the same time are the crazy characters you come across in Times Square. Whether they be in strange, off-beat costumes or something else, I try to get photos of them. They make you ask so many questions. This is my collection of different characters I’ve witnessed…Who are these people? Where do they come from? Why are there so many of them?? Here’s a collection of photos I’ve taken over time:

“Spongebob”
Crazy how he made it to land like that.
“Elmo” at the subway
“Chewbacca”
“Baby”
He’s just trying to park his car.
Naked cowgirls in the lower left corner (also not pictured is the Naked Cowboy). Patriotism at its finest.
A group of characters casually roaming the street
“The Hulk” and “Elsa”
An unlikely duo.
Last year my friend (who doesn’t go to the city often) decided to go pose with the characters as a joke. He’s very impulsive. We got a good laugh and a great photo out of it.
Ok this one is really good, the best one I’ve seen so far. He stood completely still like a statue, and would move if you put money in.
